Citizens' Police Academy

The Foster Police Department will be conducting our second annual Citizen’s Police Academy on Monday evenings from 7:00pm-9:00pm, starting on April 2, 2007.One shooting range course to be held on a Saturday morning.  Classes will be held at the South Foster Fire Station on Mt Hygeia Road. 

The purpose of the academy is to encourage and facilitate improved community and police relations and provide participants with first hand knowledge and exposure to the day to day activities of police officers and the inner workings of their police department. 

Admission is free. Applicants must be Town residents, at least eighteen(18) years old, and pass a criminal background check. Enrollment is limited to twenty(20) participants. A graduation ceremony will conclude the program, and graduates will receive certificates, an academy shirt, and class photo. 

Applications are now available at Foster Police Headquarters, 182 Howard Hill Road, and also at the Foster Town Hall, 181 Howard Hill Road. Applications must be returned no later than Monday, March 26, 2007.
