	William J. Ziehl, a 14 year veteran of the Foster Police Department was promoted to Lieutenant during a ceremony before the Foster Town Council on February 12, 2009. Lt. Ziehl is the department's training officer, and grant coordinator. He is active in RI Special Olympics, and the annual toy drive. Lt. Ziehl will serve as a night shift supervisor working from 6PM to 2AM. We are proud to serve with Lt. Ziehl and congratulate him on his achievements.

	Patrol Officer John W. Forrest was officially sworn in as a full time police officer before the Foster Town Council on February 12, 2009. Prior to his appointment, he had served with the R. I Dept of Corrections for seventeen years. Officer Forrest brings an impressive background in law enforcement and has served admirably during his probationary year. Officer Forrest will conduct patrol duties by rotating on the 4-12 shift and the midnight-8 shift.
