Captain Rollinson Graduates From the FBI
Academy
Our congratulations to Captain Eric Rollinson who on September 12, 2008,
graduated from the 234th session of the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Captain Rollinson participated in an intensive ten week course of instruction
focusing on legal issues, evidence gathering and preservation, interviewing
techniques, narcotics investigation and prosecution and a host of state of the
art law enforcement resources and practices. Candidates for the FBI Academy must
pass a rigid application and referral process before being accepted. We are
proud of his accomplishments and leadership abilities

Discussion
Groups at Hemlock Village
On July 31, 2008 Chief Coyne, Lt. Bolger, and Sgt Ziehl met with the residents
of Hemlock Village to discuss their concerns regarding safety issues and police
visibility at the senior complex.
Residents were encouraged to share their opinions and suggestions for
maintaining a safe and secure environment and to improve communication between
the residents and the members of the department. We hope to host these sessions
on a quarterly basis.

Citizens'
Police Academy
The next Citizens' Police Academy class will begin in January
2009. This is an 8 week course of instruction available to residents of Foster
free of charge. The course affords citizens a unique opportunity to learn and
observe first hand the procedures and technology utilized by your police
department on a daily basis. Each week focuses on a different topic. Guest
speakers, and experts in various fields of law enforcement will provide up to
date information and interesting demonstrations. Residents who have attended the
Citizens Police Academy report a very rewarding experience. Applications can
now be downloaded from this website
(.pdf) and are also available at the Foster Police Department. Please return
your completed application as soon as possible in order to reserve your space
for the next class. We invite you to view the information
and photos from our last class on this website. Hope
to see you there.

New Cost Effective Patrol Vehicle
The department has recently acquired a 2007 Harley Davidson Police Road King
motorcycle which will be used for patrol and traffic enforcement. Ptlm John
Forrest is currently enrolled in a comprehensive training course for
certification as a motorcycle patrol officer. Adding this newest vehicle to the
fleet should increase overall fuel efficiency and reduce the cost of gasoline.
